Perth City Sanctuaries

Perth is the capital city of Western Australia.  The city provides excellent opportunities to view wildlife in many of the city's parks, lakes, rivers and beaches that are located on the city's doorstep.

The Swan River is a dominant feature of Perth, close to the central business district with plenty of parks at its edge where you can relax and watch the large variety of birds. You may even glimpse a dolphin in the river.

The black swan is Western Australia's fauna emblem and is best viewed at Lake Monger, just north of the city as well as many other waterways around the city.

No visit to Perth is complete without seeing Kings Park. The park has excellent views of the city skyline and provides a haven for the native animals located within the four square kilometre park which also features native flora.
